If you need a Crisis Response Team Callout Please call 317-745-9833. A CRT Coordinator will speak with you to determine the response
The purpose of the HENDRICKS COUNTY CRISIS RESPONSE TEAM is to provide trauma mitigation, education and emotional first aid in the aftermath of a critical incident either small scale or mass casualty. The Hendricks County Crisis Response Team will provide critical incident debriefing and support for anyone that requests assistance.

As part of the Hendricks County Crisis Response Team, you will also be part of the Hendricks County Medical Reserve Corps and will be given the option to join the Indiana-Crisis Assistance Response Team. No prior experience is necessary, but training and background checks are required.

Unexpected traumatic events can overwhelm a person and a community physically, emotionally and spiritually. Hendricks County Crisis Response Team will assist victims and survivors of crime, trauma, and disasters at the scene of a traumatic event or at a designated site following the event. By providing a safe place for those affected to debrief the situation, team members allow individuals to share their crisis reactions with others involved. Crisis intervention support sessions minimize further crisis reactions and help provide education and much needed support.

The Hendricks County Crisis Response team follows the National Organization for Victim Assistance (NOVA) crisis response model and protocol. Founded in 1975, NOVA is the oldest national victim assistance organization of its type in the United States and is the recognized leader in victim advocacy, education and credentialing.

NOVA includes evidence-informed and field-tested best practices as a crisis management utility that includes trauma mitigation and education protocols. With over 10,000 trained in North America and internationally, NOVA CRT training is an effective tool that can be instantly scaled up for mass-casualty critical incidents.

Hendricks County Response Team process:
  1. All potential crisis response volunteers must complete the NIMS IS 100 & 700 courses on-line, and have a Medical Reserve Corps complete background check.
  2. Crisis Response Team participants must register for National Organization for Victim Assistance(NOVA) training when training is available..
  3. At the conclusion of the NOVA training, participants will indicate their ongoing interest/commitment (Hendricks County only, other Hendricks County MRC groups, broader I-CART response team).
